Amaju Pinnick and also the Nigerian football Federation, have reacted to his removal because the first vice president of the Confederation of African soccer (CAF) on Th.
Pinnick in his reaction to the announcement of his removal, thanked the African football body for a chance to serve and additionally congratulated the recently appointed Vice Presidents.
“My commitment to the game is perpetual whereas my support for my colleagues within the govt Committee remains steadfast.
“I congratulate Omari, Lekjaa and Danny on the idea of their new roles as first, second and third Vice CAF Presidents severally,” Pinnick aforesaid.
The NFF on its own half disclosed that the removal of Pinnick as CAF’s vice president, was in line with Article twenty two (4) of the CAF Statutes.
The statement from Ademola Olajire, NFF’s Director of Communications reads:-
“In line with Article twenty two (4) of the CAF Statutes, each 2 years once elections area unit control at the CAF Congress (as occurred today), the CAF govt Committee on the proposal of the CAF President, elects a first, second and third vice president, severally from among its members.
“Significantly, the renewal of Amaju Pinnick’s tenure wasn’t planned by the CAF President thanks to basic variations on focus and direction.
“Pinnick accepted the choice of the President because it aligned along with his own read having thought of matters encompassing the administration of African football that have dovetailed into the Nigerian soccer house.
“He will, however, stay a bonafide member of the CAF govt Committee to continue along with his mandate intrinsically.”
